D2D is a Comox Valley homegrown solution to homelessness here in the Valley. Over 10 years ago Tom Grant in response to discovering someone sleeping in his garage decided to be proactive and began to recruit like-minded others in working toward solutions. From this Dawn to Dawn Action on Homelessness Society was formed.
The name Dawn to Dawn came about after Tom heard from a homeless individual who commented that services are only available dawn to dusk and that something was needed Dawn to Dawn.
A Comox Rotary member and entrepreneur Tom was able to enlist the support of numerous Comox Valley residents and businesses that wanted to be part of the solution. For its early years, D2D relied solely on the goodwill of the Comox Valley. We couldn’t have done this without you!
