How You Can Help

But Enough Art, Eat!

A three day art and food extravaganza!

What is the role of an art gallery? Who gets to witness and produce art? Is there an aesthetic to homelessness? But Enough Art, Eat! a celebration of street culture produced and conceived by D2D for street involved folks  recently explored these questions at the Comox Valley Art Gallery in participation with Comox Valley Arts .

The three day event served as a forum for community driven discussion and hands-on activities focussed on deeply felt issues around nutrition, homelessness, contemporary art practices, graffiti, food production and music.

Participants took part in cedar weaving, yoga, graffiti, glass blowing and hip hop workshops. Music Jams and Street Soccer were ongoing.

One of the highlights of BEAE was hot plate cooking demonstrations by our partners Pizzeria Guerilla and the Atlas Café. A nutritious, budget conscious meal was cooked on a hot plate by a gourmet chef. Breaking bread and taboos while sitting fireside , street involved folks and politicians shared a meal while stories were shared of life on the street.
