Overview of our Committees
There are two streams to Dawn to Dawn Action on Homelessness — our Residential Program and our Care-A-Van Program — which are supported by our Board of Directors through the Committees described below.
Residential
The Residential Committee, Chaired by Sam Sommers, is responsible for the daily and long-term housing of tenants in our residential housing program. This includes locating, securing and preparing housing units, including furnishing and household goods, negotiating with landlords, establishing rental payments and Hydro. The committee processes referrals of potential tenants, assesses intake information, interviews prospective participants, and matches tenants for roommate pairings within units.

Care-A-Van
The Care-A-Van (CAV) Committee, temporarily Chaired by Joline Martin, oversees the on-going healthcare services that are provided via the mobile health clinic that serves the homeless and at-risk of homelessness population of the Comox Valley. The committee in partnership with other agencies maintains services that are responsive to the needs of the community by organizing, delivering, fund-raising, evaluating outcomes and ensuring that professional standards of care are maintained.
