Dawn to Dawn Accomplishments

- Initial formation of a non-profit group- April 2007

- Incorporated as a non-profit society Dawn to Dawn: Action on Homelessness Society-July 2007

- Awaiting Charitable Status from Revenue Canada due Dec.08

- Participated in the Community Resource Fair-2007 & 2008

- Distributed over 250 pairs of socks at the Sonshine Lunch Club Soup Kitchen- December 2007

- Supported the Comox Valley Transition Society with donations of goods to those escaping abuse-March 2008

- Supported Aids Vancouver Island/Waichay and Red Cross Outreach van with donations of goods-March 2008

- In conjunction with the Salvation Army approached the Mayor of Courtenay to launch the Courtenay Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness-December 2007

- Six members of Dawn to Dawn were invited to sit on committees of the Mayor’s Task Force for their expertise in various fields-December 2007 to March 2008

- Start date for CARE-A-VAN mobile healthcare unit February 09.

- April 09 -Low Barrier Housing Project-  26 individuals housed.
